About Luc

Love, Unite, Cherish. These were the words he lived by.

His love for those around him was undeniable. He had a passion to unite family and friends, whether around a campfire or on a playing field. He cherished every moment as though it were his last.

Luc passed away suddenly on April 13th 2005 of a heart condition while he was acting as assistant coach for the girl’s volleyball team at College Regional Gabrielle-Roy, the school his attended. He was approaching 16 years of age.

Luc, as genuine as he was, lived his life with a “joie de vivre” that was contagious to those around him. He was always ready to motivate and support his teammates in any situation while playing the many sports he loved, volleyball and hockey being his favourites.

Growing up surrounded by many close friends and family members, Luc loved to share his many passions including the outdoors, fishing, water skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and dirt biking. Luc always understood that his happiness was only real when it was shared with someone special.

The Luc Gosselin Commemorative Bursary was created in April 2005 thanks to the efforts of Luc’s many friends and relatives who wished to continue Luc’s legacy by encouraging future students to pursue their dreams. The recipients must pursue a post-secondary education, undertake a special project or pursue a sport at the elite level. The students must demonstrate leadership qualities, encouragement and support towards their peers, a positive attitude and a “joie de vivre” while participating enthusiastically in their community or school.

Luc is certainly proud of you all
